Stone Lantern Good day, all.

I have a few thoughts to share with those of you who have joined the FIT experience. Last year I spent a lot of time trying to boost spirits, encourage, cheer people on, motivate; you get the picture. But it has occurred to me that that is not enough to help people who are attempting to create their own fantastic freelancing journey in Tokyo. What I think may be of more value is to tell you more real-life experiences, not just mine, but yours, if you care to share them. The idea is to help others and to make the life/work experience in Japan a deeply enriching one.

That said: If you have had a unique, worthy, interesting, challenging, important FIT experience that you would like to share with others, I will be glad to post it as long as it is appropriate for this site, along with your website info or any particular information about you or your company or your abilities that you would like to share. The information does not have to be strictly "freelance" related. Anything that helps facilitate our lives in Tokyo is worthy. If enough of this type of information is received, I will set up a separate page on the site for it.

To kick off our first piece of advice, I'd like to thank Cher Mori who helped expand the Helpful Websites page by advising that there are English-speaking dermatologists (and other English-speaking doctors) at Seibo International Catholic Hospital. For those of us who struggle with Japanese on a daily basis, knowing where to find an English-speaking doctor can be a source of great relief. I met Cher at one of our Freelancing in Tokyo events last year. Cher runs Jill of All Trades, which offers personal assistant services to the Tokyo community. Thanks, Cher, for the tip!

There was a day in this town when fellow foreigners helped each other. I would like to make the FIT site a place where people can share any helpful tidbits, advice, knowledge, etc. to assist others on their FIT journey. Please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll do my best to include the information you send.
